I'm Not Your Typical Marketer (And That's Kind of the Point)

I wanted to be a singer when I was younger. Turns out I didn't have the voice for it.

What I did have was this restless need to create something—anything.

I thought I wanted to be famous, but really, I just wanted to make things that mattered.

That led me to writing.

I started blogging back in 2010, just random stuff online. A year later, I stumbled across this weird corner of the internet where people were making actual money writing "copy"—the words that sell things. It sounded ridiculous. But I tried it.

Didn't get serious about it until 2014 when I left home and needed to figure out how to pay rent. That's when copywriting stopped being a hobby and became a career.

Why I Only Work With Financial Advisors Now

For years, I worked with all kinds of entrepreneurs. Life coaches, dating coaches, real estate investors, e-commerce brands—you name it. I even spent time at advertising agencies where I wrote copy for clients I never would've chosen myself.

Some of those clients were selling products I knew were garbage. Overpriced courses that didn't deliver. Supplements that didn't work. The kind of stuff that made me feel like I was using my skills to trick people.

I hated it.

At an agency, you don't get to choose. You write what they tell you to write. So I left and went independent—because I wanted to work with people who were actually helping their clients, not just extracting money from them.

That's when I remembered one of my favorite projects from a few years back...

...a financial planner who genuinely cared about the people she worked with. She wasn't selling snake oil or overhyped promises. She was helping real people solve real problems—retirement planning, getting out of debt, building wealth the right way.

Working with her felt different. Like my ability to write persuasive copy wasn't being wasted on nonsense. It was being used to connect someone who needed help with someone who could actually provide it.

So I made a decision: I'd only work with independent financial advisors from that point forward.

Not because it's the easiest niche or the most profitable one. But because I can sleep at night knowing the funnels I build are helping people find advisors who'll genuinely improve their lives.

What It's Like to Work With Me

I take this seriously, but I don't take myself too seriously.
